Dear Mr. Chairman;
I am writing in regards to Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, and her refusal to meet with Egypt Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentarian Member during her trips to Egypt.
United States government has been pressing Egyptian President Hosny Mubrark for years to enact reforms as part of the campaign to spread democracy in the middle east and the refusal of Secretary of State to meet with the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentarian Members undermines the United States government's campaign for democracy.
Considering that such meetings are not barred by U.S. government policy I respectfully request your encouragement of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to meet with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentarian Members in an effort to promote democracy.
Thanking you in advance for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
Eva Shannon

Monem Free
In a surprise decision, the High State Security Prosecutor ordered the release of MB blogger and journalist Abdel Monem Mahmoud, along with the group of students from the Institute of Agricultural Engineering, in addition to three MB leaders including Dr. Mohamed Abdelal, assistant professor of plastic surgery at Ein Shams University, Pharmacist Salem Ramdan, and Engineer Nader Tawfeek.Monem and his group are expected to be release on Saturday after completing paperwork.
Attorney Islam Lotfi praised the decision which took everyone by surprise. He added that the release came as result of the pressure by bloggers and human rights organizations across the world. He called for the immediate release of MB detainees and all political prisoners in Egypt.
Lotfi also stated that the release order came without any explanation exactly as the decision to arrest them in the first place, adding that the charges brought against Monem and his group were groundless.

Stop the Clash of Civilizations (Change The World )
Stop the Clash of civilizations - demand real Middle East peace talks now!
Talk is rising of a ‘clash of civilizations’. But the problem isn’t culture, it’s politics – from 9/11 to Guantanamo, Iraq to Iran. This clash is not inevitable, and we don't want it.
So where to start? The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the key symbol of the rift between Islam & the West. It's time to step up and take the initiative.
Add your voice to the petiton bellow and we'll put billboards demanding REAL PEACE TALKS NOW in the streets of Jerusalem.

Did nothing
we watched blood scattered every where
we did nothing
we watched the last man fall
we did nothing
we saw hate in their eyes
we did nothing
weapons to kill
soldiers to destroy
and we watched and did nothing
cry for help
screams of betrayal
we did nothing
kill
destroy
they beg for help
our only reply was guilt
but nothing else
and until now nothing has changed
unless
we do something

Here’s a video of the clashes that happened between the police and the residents of Qale’t Kabsh slum, who were demonstrating in Tahrir Square last week demanding compensation from the government after their houses were burnt down.
The government did find an alternative housing for only 100 families last Monday, resettling them in El-Nahda neighborhood, Madinet el-Salam. On the same day, Central Security Forces raided the slum again, and rounded up roughly 70 men, and took them in two prison trucks, throwing one group in the desert on the Cairo-Suez road and another near Tora, south of Cairo. They were warned if they demonstrate again, “they’ll be taken behind the sun,” according to a leftist activist who is in touch with the slum community leaders.

Detention For Monem and His Group Extended 15 More Days
Today, Monem’s detention was extended 15 days by State Security prosecutor of Tagammu Khames - Nasr City. State Security troops surrounded prosecutors’ compund and denied supporters access to building. Lawyers raised concerns that Monem and MB students are being locked in same over-crowded cells with criminial prisoners who assault and sexually harass them, although their case is obviously a political one and should be detained separately.

Egypt's Highest Court Cancels Military Trials For MB Detainees

In a historic ruling, Egypt's administrative Court accepted on Tuesday an appeal filed by 33 Muslim Brotherhood members and more than 100 of their family members against the President's order to refere them MB detainees to a military court. The court ruled to cancel the President's decision and ordered the immediate release of all detainees and compensating them for their suffering.
The detainees have already been put to trial before the martial court and the first session was held on April 26th and was adjourned till June 3rd. The defence team did not attend the trail in protest against failure to notify them of the session date. The date of the first session was set just after Cairo Criminal Court ordered the release of the detainees. Thirty two Egyptian legal organizations called on Muslim Brotherhood to boycott the military trial to protest referral of civilians to a martial court.
Zahraa Al-Shater, daughter of Muslim Brotherhood Second Vice Chairman Khairat Al-Shater and wife of Engineer Ayman Abdel Ghani who was also facing a trial before the military court, voiced happiness, describing the ruling as historic and proves that Egyptian judiciary is the resort and refuge in face of the oppressive Egyptian regime.
In statements to Ikhwanweb, following the ruling, Zahraa said that this ruling as well as other rulings passed by the fair Egyptian judiciary on the immediate release of Al-Shater and other detainees held in this case, asserted that Engineer Al-Shater's case is politically motivated to settle accounts between the Egyptian regime and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Zahraa, whoever, voiced concern that the Ministry of Interior would not execute the ruling as usual and would attempt to dodge it.
Today's court ruling is a historic one that rejected the President's decree to refer civilians to military courts as it was not the authorized court, a lawyer and member of the detainees' defending team. Ahmed Hashem said.
This decision is obligatory as of the date of its issuance even if it is contested, he said, adding that the detainees should be immediately released and should be notified with the ruling issued now.
He pointed out that the parties concerned would be notified with this decision so as to be promptly implemented. Till date there is no objective case against the Brotherhood but rather political ones that the President moved from ordinary judiciary to military one which lacks any justice or law enforcement guarantees, he said, described the first ruling of its kind as historic and unprecedented

USA citizens has their eye on happings in Egypt
and this is the letter she sent :

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of The House
110th Congress
Washington, DC 20515
While our United States Armed Forces and others die in Iraq to promote democracy and freedom our government gives billions of dollars in aid to an Egyptian dictator. This is a double standard shedding a negative on the United States of America to include being disrespectful of our Armed Forces who are serving and those who have died in the name of freedom..
Egyptian President Murbark is an outright dictator holding the presidential office for 26 years and being recipient of the second largest amount of US aid in billions of dollars intended to promote and support credible elections process, enhance collaboration between responsive government and informed citizenry, increase availability of effective legal services and protect human rights, etc. This has not and is not happening.
Members of The Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo, Egypt who struggle for democracy and freedom are not common criminals, but highly educated people of the Egyptian Society who strive to live in a free society. By speaking out government opponents, dissidents, journalist, students, etc have had their human rights violated, suffered tortured beatings, family members threatened and many have been imprisoned for months awaiting trial before a military tribunal.
Isn't it Past time the American people demand no more double standards, no more billions of dollars to Dictator Murbark? Free Egypt!
